Join the 'Woodend Warriors' Junior Bowlers
At Woodend Bowling Club we have been running a Juniors Section since 2010. The Juniors Section is called the “Woodend Warriors” and we take membership from age 5 to age 17.
In 2014 the Bowling Section won The Sports Council for Glasgow “Development Club of the Year Award” and we were finalists in the Sunday Mail / Sport Scotland “Local Club of Year 2014” category at the Annual Sports Awards.
The Juniors Section comes to Woodend Bowling Club for assault course bowls, coaching, match play sessions and other different activities throughout the year. The older juniors players at Woodend also help mentor the younger juniors to help introduce them to the sport through peer learning. Our Juniors Coaches are Bowls Scotland Certified with Disclosure Certification.
We meet regularly during the season (April to September outdoors and October to March indoors) on a Sunday afternoon from 1 to 2pm when most of our coaching takes place.
The sessions are split into two 25 minute sessions with a break for a drink and snack/sweets. We have great fun and can have up to a maximum of 20 juniors participating.
We are already planning more exciting events this year and if you enjoyed hearing about us then please come visit us. We would love to have you come and join us and be part of the Woodend “Warriors” Membership is £20 and renews every April.
There are no extra costs for weekly coaching sessions.
Please request a membership form and return this to the club with a cheque payable to Woodend Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club (or why not just come along to our next Juniors Session and see if you enjoy yourself and meet our coaches and juniors?)
